Hazardous Locations Solutions
Questions have been raised regarding whether electrical equipment that is to be located in hazardous (classified) locations could be field evaluated based on the requirements of the SPE-1000 “Model Code for the Field Evaluation of Electrical Equipment”
Hazardous Location Solutions for You
- World Wide Service
- Knowledgeable Inspectors
- Experts in the Industry
- Dedication to Safety
The Field Evaluation Services Group has responded to the Regulatory Bodies change in enforcement by assembling a team of specially trained, highly qualified inspectors to assist you with your Hazardous Location Equipment Approval needs
- Electrical Equipment installed in Hazardous Locations does not fall under the scope of the SPE-1000 and therefore not under the scope of Field Evaluations
- The only accredited program for such installations is the process of Field Certification, which is a Certification program and not a Field Evaluation program
- This Certification can be done in the field at the equipment site
- Although Field Evaluation agencies have provided the service in the past, they are no longer permitted to do so by the Authority Having Jurisdiction
- In order to continue to serve customers with their Hazardous Locations Field Evaluation Services Group (FESG) has partnered with a Field Certification provider to assist customers if required to approve and label Hazardous Location Equipment
- Fee’s will be competitive with other agencies providing similar services $180.00 an hour plus expenses, testing, and documentation for required certification reports (subject to changes)
- Please note a Service Agreement must be signed along with the Estimate Agreement before we can proceed
